Is there any way you would be able to get a green card? At least that way, you might be able to get a better job and go to school. I can't imagine not talking to someone all day. Although, some people have really horrible bosses and so that could be a godsend. Please don't despair.

Just marry an American! What are you waiting for? Get divorced a few years later like the rest of the nation. It's fashionable nowadays to have a "starter-marriage." I'm sure you make decent money, so stop hoarding it like most first generation people do. Buy yourself some nice clothes, get a decent haircut, lease a BMW and you'll be married in no time! You can thank me later during your naturalization ceremony. I know a good divorce lawyer. Call me.

Wow,
I feel the same as you, but the situation is reversed. I do graphic design, where I create fancy, creative ads for a marketing search firm, but the pay is very low. I long to be a data analyst, where I can use more of my analysis skills and make more money. Do what you love and volunteering will follow.

I too am an artist. I paint. I went to architecture school but became an engineer. I HATE MY JOB!!!! It pays decent, but I would rather be an artist...I try to (drag myself like you, because I am drained) work on creating and selling paintings. You don't have to go to art school to be an artist. You can do and read (about biz end) on your own. I am kinda screwed because there is this whole thing about "insider" versus "outsider" artists.....or, those who 'went to school' vs. those who are self taught. Well, I hang somewhere in no mans land because lots of folks consider architecture as art study. (This is in regards to dealers and agents, etc.)
Another thought---I ENVY YOU!!!!!
I am so jealous!!!! No human contact? To me that would be bliss! I just want to be totally alone and work on painting. I have to deal with clients and coworkers---they are businesslike, intelligent, its not too over the top because I do technical stuff....still it is too much people. I HATE PEOPLE! I want to be alone! (I should qualify by saying I only want to be with a very very few people---who do not get on my nerves---for very very very short amounts of time.) I want to be a hermit! Lucky you! Keep on the art---you can make your own study----lotsa library books---and, in my opinion---BETTER THAN the shit they'd feed you in school anyway!
