To be as fair and honest as possible I would say working for Bank of America was neither a positive or negative experience. It was just an existance -- thats it. The corporation itself is fairly caring about their employees, if you fit the Bank of America Spirit (that is their new cult training program). One of the biggest problems is that their are so many changes and ideas that go on within the organization without the proper channels of communication to actually communicate the information to the people that are affected by the changes. One of these is the pay for performance scheme that was set up in 2003. The criteria by which your bonus was to be judged was not communicated until decisions were already made on who within a specific ranking would receive a bonus. Needless to say you could have ranked tops in metrics, attendance and other areas of your position but if you did not adhere to the "Spirit" of the company (which could be god knows whatever) then your ranking could theoretically place you in the bottom tier of employees.
Personnel basically sucks, they are outsourced to Exult which will give you five different answers for one topic. They are totally clueless half the time and I know part of the customer service division of personnel is outsourced overseas. People with very thick accents named William, John or Patricia.
My basic advise is to get your experience and then get out and go to an organization which actually has some idea of what their employees are supposed to be doing. Trying to find out what department is reposible for a specific task is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. To sum it up this organization is like a nine headed beast with only one brain.
