I've had a similar experience. The store where I work closes at 9, and we stop being paid at 9. However, there are always some closing up dutings and I'm never able to leave right at 9.
We are also expected to arrive early, but are not paid until our shift begins.
My boss also won't pay overtime & doesn't offer any health insurance. Raises aren't given unless you ask for one - even then it's not guaranteed.
