I started last year and can honestly say that the Post Office sucks. As far as a good place to work, it is not. My postmaster is an anal retentative person who flips out and gets bent out of shape over little things. He walks around like a chicken with his head cut off. Everyone at work who I have talked to, does not like him in charge and are not happy with their jobs. They feel used, abused, unappreciated, etcetera and so on.
This is the way the Post Office is and how they are and treat you in the following order:
1) They use you and
Abuse you, then
2) Break you.(everybody will break sooner or later eventually as long as you are alive) After that,
3) they kick you to the curb (no matter how much work you have done (in quality and quanity and how many years you have given them)
4) it is all your fault no matter what and they will deny anything not taking responsibility for anything because "everything is your fault". Try filing workman's comp when and if you need it, the management takes courses on how to counter act and work against you on that. If this sounds like paranonia, it is not. You will really find out how s.o.s. you are when you see management is not there for you and will write statements like "so and so is fine and does not like delicate or injured when it is obvious that they are injured.
FAVORITISM: If you have a nice ass and are incompetent in certain jobs, your Postmaster/Supervisor will make accomandations towards you and place you in them so they can you know what with them and be there you know what. IT's true!
