"data entry temp worker....temping is not for me"

I should have known from the moment the temp agency called me. They said they had a job, but it was data entry. They would need me to take a few tests of course. I should have known when I went to take the on-line tests. There were 5 in total, the first a personalysis, a series of the same 7 or 8 questions asked multiple times designed to trick you into giving away my "true" nature, followed by some data entry stuff to ensure I wasn't disexcelis followed by another personalysis and so on until the fifth and final test.

Perhaps I should have taken it as a sign that when I called back and the agency told me although I scored well, there were others better than I. Perhaps I should have noticed when the same woman 2 days later called me, not remembering our previous conversation, and said I had done "very well" and offered me the position.

No, I did not take these signs and the day I showed up for my 6-month committment temp job, I felt lucky just to be working in our 'soft' economy.

So what if I was working nights. So what if I only worked 22.5 hours a week. So what if they wanted us temps to work Saturdays too. So what if I was being monitored by cameras. So what if my every move was being tracked by my 'task tracker' and my stats were evaluated daily. So what if nobody cared about me or spoke to me or looked at me. So what. I had a job. So what.

Perhaps I did get myself fired on purpose. Perhaps they should have recognized this trait in my personalysis. Perhaps I am not only not management material, but not temp material either. Perhaps I was 'thinking ouside of the box' when, as I was running 8 minutes late on my 8th day of work, I asked my fellow temp team member to log me in as only 4 minutes late so I wouldn't be 'locked out of the system' - as conveyed would automatically happen by our team leader in our two weeks of training.

Perhaps I should have known that on my 9th day I would be back home, in my pyjamas, making deals with myself to get a new job 'really soon'. Perhaps. Yes. Perhaps.

*Pretty funny as i am a temp and have been there and am doing that LOL!

I hate temp. agencies. They make you do so many ridiculous TESTS for every single skill and make you sign so many papers when you first walk through that door and you don't even have a job yet and met with the client yet.
