View Full Version : Does McDonalds really hold your first week's pay?

I know a girl (age 16) who recently began working for McDonalds in Oklahoma. She told me that the company is witholding her first week's pay from her until she leaves the job. (She worked a 40 hour week her first week.) Additionally, she said that if she quits without notice or leaves the job with less than a 2 week notice, she actually forfeits that first week of pay. I'm not sure what occurs to the money if she gets fired.

My question is this: Is this standard practice at McDonalds nationwide? Have other employees experienced not getting their first week's pay until they left (meaning if you still work there, you have yet to receive that money.)?

i work at a mcdonalds in ohio and no, that is not what they're supposed to do. For the amount of work you do you WILL be paid for it. To hold that back sounds illegal. Almost like slave labor for the first week because she might not be paid for it.
