Sounds like you are just pissed because you had a crappy job and couldn't accept the fact that you are a loser!

Unfortunately for Swift customers and it's employees, this is not one of them. She is absolutely correct about the way Swift Transportation does business. I have worked for Swift for almost 10 years and the first 5 were great. With the exception of a few personality conflicts with supervisors (something you will have anywhere you work) I had no problems. Then Swift started growing very fast. When I started there were about 6500 trucks in the fleet. We were able to expand as new trucks/drivers were hired on. In the last 2-3 years we have gone from 10,000 trucks to almost 25,000. They grew too fast. Its that simple. They have replaced customer service with corporate political bull@#$%.

Jerry Moyes, CEO of Swift, was quoted not too long ago as saying "I am not interested in being the biggest, I just want to be the most profitable."

Well Jerry, What ever happened to being the BEST?

I once had a job that was evolved through nepotism, national tree experts was by far the worst bunch that I ever had to endure. If in fact you were not related to someone in the company, then you got the worst jobs, shortest hours and lower wages than the cousins, brothers and inlaws.

Your dead on, I've never worked for Swift, but I do deal with the trucks and drivers on a weekly basis (Retail Store). All the drivers are rude, crude, stupid, and should not have a CDL, even if it was to save their lives. I've seen a Swift driver back into the building, concrete blocks, propane tanks (not once, but three times... he backed into it, and then did it again, and one more time for good measure...), nearly take out a praking lot of cars, T-bone the truck across this town's main square (he acutally finished that perforance by backing up into the city park, at the intersection of three roads and backed up across another road into the stores parking lot.). In my view, Swift totally sucks and can't hire good drivers.

If you are going to critize someone at least learn how to spell. Five out of the seven previous replies to the original post look like they were written by uneducated morons. So people next time you decide to post a message on the internet at least stop fucking your sister long enough to check the dictionary.

I worked for a dedicated Walmart fleet for four and a half years before the company was bought out by Swift Trans. The process was a real eye opener in terms of just how Swift treats their empoyees and conducts business. The first thing that was done after the June take over was to lay off the Payroll Department, the Safety Department, Human Resources Department, the Recruiting Department, about six dispatchers and other various managers. Some of the changes were perhaps for the best but for some it was not. We were assured by the Swift talking heads in Phenoix that there would be no layoffs at least for a year but these layoffs occurred within the first week after the take over. Another item of intrest is that the health plan offered was nearly three times as high as what we had before and it was soon found out that Swift owned partial intrest in the Humana insurance system. Another quick buck return to Jerry Moyes pocket off the sweat of his employees. Another item to note is that Swift does not offer time and a half to hourly employees. In other words they do not pay the time and a half after forty hours because Mr. Moyes uses some obscure 1935 farming law to claim his equipment as farming equipment. Go figure and doom on the people that stay with Swift Transportation as they continue to screw with peoples wages and living. I beleive they should go Union as it would protect many of the drivers and hourly people from presecutions. The many accidents that I saw in the short time employed there are just to numorous to explain but I still can't beleive Walmart, of all company's, would allow this inferior trucking company to haul it's freight.

This proves that the poster is not an actual swift driver. Swift only has about 17,000 tractors and 20,000 drivers. This can be verified in current Motley Fool stock reports.

As far as the original poster, she is also wrong about Swi8ft's customer service and on-time delivery rates.
Swift is at a 98% on-time delivery rate. Heck, everytime I check with a shipper/receiver the time Swift wants me there is always 30-60 minutes early. They have a lot of new drivers so this gives them a cushion to play with.

Swift has plenty of bad things about them, but who doesn't?
Common sense would tell you that you don't grow to be #1 by being late all the time.

I can totaly relate to your every word. Its as thou you got into my mind and took the words right outta my mouth. My husband drives for swift goen on 8 years now...we just recently became owner opes. And let me tell you you have it so right. THEY are crap. Mr Jerry is out for him self and he could careless about his drivers and anyone can work as a manager rather you have brains or not. Every time Mr Jerry buys a company he takes from his drivers to cover his cost... the driver managers are in MOST cases... totaly un-educated... I even know of a janitor they hired to be a driver manager. Reading nor respect is a requirememt. As a matter of fact the dummer your are the more likely they are to hire you as a manager. It has been a constant battle. Yes it makes our living but its a real pain in the backside...

I dont agree. I am trying to get a job as a driver manager with Swift and it's like pulling teeth. They have done so many background checks on me, it's unreal. They are the only company I know of that actually calls the people you put down as a reference. They pulled my credit, criminal history and even checked to see if I really graduated high school. Of course everything was true that I put on the application but it makes me wonder did they not believe I was telling the truth or do they do this with everyone that works in the office?

As a Moyes here in Northern Utah and not into the "Big Business" like Uncle Jerry, It's very hard to have grown as big as he has, and not have people upset and pick you apart. Resentment by others just makes them more unhappy. Jerry has a sharp mind for business, just like Sam Walton and others. Jerry and Vickie have adopted 11 children because that couldn't have their own, a wonderful dad and grandpa, yep he's shrewed, but very genuine and honest, and very approachable, even when your not family.
You cant be that big in the industry and know everything your company is doing, you have to rely on "other employees" to tell you the truth....and they dont always do that.

And Jerry sure doesn't seem to mind insider trading..

Yes, he's a business man, yes, he's a very nice guy, but he sure as hell isn't CEO of the year. I'm surprised so many people stay at Swift. They underpay, overwork, and understaff. At Corporate in Phoenix, everyone seemed to be a manager, and the current crop they have in there now, trying to get away from the good ol' boy network?, it's all about ME ME ME, and screw everyone else! When you work hard, show dedication, don't complain, you get absolutely nowhere!

Just thought i'd drop in my 2 cents..

That is 100% correct. Its not what you know there, its whom you know. It is merely a place for the family to employ family and get wealthier. If they didn't have swift they would probably be flipping burgers and burger king!

All of the corruption and family favortism is correct. Education nor experience moves you up the corporate ladder. You have to be born in, married in, or live next door! Take a look at the corruption at Central Freight, another moyes owned company! Not to mention that both central and swift shares have dropped because of the same type of business practices! there was even a comment from jerry in the arizona republic about his employees. he refered to them as horses in his corral and he keeps them under control with a whip! brilliant way to refer to the people that bust their but every day to make him and his cronies successful!most of whom have high school educations at best but somehow are all VP's and executives!

All this talk about Jerry building wealth from the sweat of his employees. Why does anybody go into business if not to build wealth, and is the employee not compensated for his efforts? As far as I remember slavery has been outlawed, nobody at Swift is under any obligation to stay and work for Jerry, so if you don't like it, leave.
I've worked for Swift as a company driver and owner operator now going on eight years, they have faults, but what company out there can please each and everyone of its employee 100% of the time, let me know, and I too will move over to them.

I worked for swift in the late eighties and early nineties, overall and I think no one has really addressed this, I was the wrong religion, most of the relatives of the family would not cuss, drink pop or coffee or do or say anything against their religion, I could not believe that I was sexually harassed by a male (my supervisor), go to his house and party with the gang, see male pornography displayed as a badge of honor, get drunk like fishes, but damn when work came, everyone was an angel. There once was a tv stolen out of the 500 or so tractors parked in the lot, and everyone had to be interviewed by the PI. ridiculus, if you don't trust me, I don't want to work there. I think that the family is a good family, however they play the game as the best. One last comment, if you look at the history of Mormonism, Neoptisim is the name of the game. I still would work for them, although, not in phoenix.

I AM WRITING THIS REPLY TO THE "NOT SO SWIFT TRANSPORTATION" POST ON THIS WEB SITE. MY HUSBAND IS A DRIVER FOR SWIFT TRANSPORTATION. HE IS NOT IGNORANT, NOR RUDE, HE KNOWS HOW TO DRIVE HIS TRUCK, AND ALWAYS, ALWAYS MANAGES TO GET HIS LOADS TO THEIR FINAL DESTINATION ON TIME. (NOT ALL DRIVERS ARE BAD) HE WORKS HARD AND DOES A VERY GOOD JOB. HE RECEIVED HIS CDL'S, THAT ARE SUPPOSE TO BE GIVEN AWAY TO JUST ANYONE, BY GOING THROUGH A VERY LONG, AND VERY FRUSTRATING THREE WEEKS OF SCHOOLING, NOT TO MENTION THE SIX WEEKS OF ADDITIONAL TRAINING HE RECEIVED FROM SWIFT, JUST TO GET HIS SO CALLED (GIVE TO ANYONE) CDL'S.
SWIFT TRANSPORTATION MAY NOT BE PERFECT, BUT WHO IS. I GET SO TIRED OF IGNORANT PEOPLE ALWAYS PUTTING OTHERS DOWN. MOST OF MY HUSBANDS PROBLEMS WITH SWIFT HAS BEEN WITH THE NOT TO QUICK TO REPLY DRIVERS MANAGERS, NOT ALL, BUT A FEW. MAYBE IT WAS THE ONE ON THIS SITE WHO WAS SO UNHAPPY, WHO KNOWS? ANYWAY, HAS ANYONE EVER STOPPED TO THINK ABOUT HOW HARD IT REALLY IS TO DRIVE A SEMI-TRUCK. YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT EVERY 4-WHEELER WHO CUTS YOU OF IN TRAFFIC, OR SLAMS ON THEIR BRAKES IN FRONT OF YOU, JUST TO LOOK AT YOU, LIKE YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS STUPID. I WONDER IF THEY EVER STOPPED TO THINK THAT THE (STUPID) TRUCK DRIVER ACTUALLY HAS THEIR LIVES, NOT TO MENTION HIS, IN HIS HANDS. THOSE TRUCKS REQUIRE ALOT OF RESPECT TO DRIVE. THINK ABOUT ALL THE WEIGHT BEHIND THAT DRIVER, NOT TO MENTION SOMEONES ELSE $150,000 + TRUCK HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR.....THANK YOU!!!!!!

Having been the recipient of a head on collision with a Swift Driver who thought he could get away with running a red light...
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I've only been on the job two weeks!" he said right in front of the Deputy Sheriff as I was being taken to the hospital. What moronic company puts people behind the wheel of a multi ton missile called an 18 wheeler driving SOLO with only TWO weeks on the job?

I've got God Himself to thank that I survived. They know he was easily doing 45-50mph running the light, and I was doing 45 his direction. His ineptness destroyed my truck. I had no time to get out of the lane I was in.

After talking to other people who've lived around here...Swift Drivers don't know how to drive, they are in more semi-truck accidents than anyone else. Having found a web site that has documented 30 months worth of Swift Drivers...over 2,000 accidents recorded involving Swift Drivers. In that time frame 66 people DIED. Over 800 people injured.

This driver almost got two of us. His collision with me kept him from killing a young mother driving a minivan.

WHAT!?! You say this driver said that he had only been on the job for TWO WEEKS?!?
My husband drives a truck for Swift and he also trains new drivers. New drivers are with a trainer for SIX WEEKS AND they MUST pass driving tests during this time. For the entire six weeks they drive under the supervision of the trainers.
In the years that my husband has been driving for Swift, we have found them to be a wonderful company to work for. They get him home when he needs to and he has been well compensated for his hard work and dedication.
It is very sad to see that people have such ill feelings towards this great company. While I respect the opinions of others, I don't respect the rude and degrading comments made about these or any other semi drivers. These men and women work many grueling hours away from their families to bring you the products (including the computer you are typing on) that you use every day.
Everyone should be a little more respectful!

Hello
Yes this driver stated clearly that he had been on the job only two weeks. The honestly sad state of affairs doesn't end there...whereby I do believe you when you say there might be some really nice drivers out there. At this very same intersection in Columbus, Ohio...two months after the incident that I was involved with...I held up traffic because yet another Swift Driver was running yet another red light.

The morning of the incident that totalled my truck...if that driver hadn't grand slammed me...he also would have hit a young mother in a minivan. On the incident I just mentioned.. it was broad daylight...and he would have taken out about a 1/2 dozen cars n trucks because we had the green light.

I do have a lot of respect for truck drivers. I did a search on Yahoo, just trying to locate the Swift Transportation web site. Ran across a accident log for 30 months of operation for Swift. Over 2000 accidents were logged. Over 66 people died due to accidents. That's not to say that other trucking companies have better or worse records. It's just what I stumbled upon. Any time I'm on the highway, I like to tag along with a trucker. It's why I have a CB in my pickup. To help them, and be helped by them.

I also have to state that in all likelyhood, 60 percent of accidents with truckers has to do with those people driving vehicles around them who do not know the first thing about how to drive a SUV or even a pickup truck. SUV's and Pickups do NOT drive like cars. I've been driving pickup trucks for years. It takes some getting used to when it comes to going back to driving a car.

Getting back to the incident with me and the Swift Driver...I do not have bad feelings towards that driver. I firmly believe that God allowed that incident to happen in order to bring about something that He had planned for me in my life. He showed me that it's not my time yet and I believe it was Him who protected me that morning.

I stumbled on this site and had to give you my experience driving for Swift about 7-8 years ago. The dispatchers lie like hell to you, if you turn in a few shorter trips and a long one, the long trip won't show on your paycheck for two weeks. Also, there is a class action suit in Phoenix right now because Swift short changes all drivers on their trips. I noticed this on my own odometer. Also, they would pay us $50 to offload toilet paper or whatever, while they would pay a lumper $100 or more if the receiver required it. I could go on, but one last comment-my nephew is a manager with Costco and he says they are always banging into the warehouse, etc., unlike their previous carrier.(interstate) With a 96% turnover rate, most of their drivers are new-what do you expect? It is a sad outfit.

I read a fair amount of these postings regarding Swift this morning and I admit it provided a great chuckle for me. I have been with this outfit for over 5 years. Last year was my lowest of the years as far as income goes. I still managed to gross right at $50,000, working only 9 months of the year and home most weekends. I generally gross in excess of $61,000 annually. With exception to a few of the postings, the authors prove that their personal ignorance is key to their own failures. The problem with web forums such as this one is the fact that anyone can post anything they desire with no accountability. I strongly suggest you hold yourself accountable in making you succesful. Challenge yourself to be better. Improve your communication skills, challenge your driving skills, share your wealth of knowledge and ability with your coworkers and new drivers instead of hiding within this web forum criticizing others for your own failures. Has it all been a bed of roses here? Of course not. It isn't anywhere. However, I can assure you the grass is greener where you are already standing. Should you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact me directly on my cell phone at (802)274-1332. My name is Michael 'Heavy Duty' Bystrzycki (pronounced 'buy-strick-eee') and I operate out of the Syracuse terminal. I am a Senior Driver Trainer and have succesfully trained in excess of 25 new drivers for this outfit. 75% are still with the company and several have moved into management positions. If you post a reply, check your spelling and punctuation and please do not reply with foul language or threats. I have a very low tolerance of ignorant people. Just remember, you get out of this company and this industry exactly what you put into it. You are responsible for 85% of the hell you think you encounter out here. Take care and thanks for reading my reply. Be safe and have a great day!

AS a new driver who is a recent grad from a 6-month driving school I chose Sift because they offer one of the longer training programs, than other companies. Everyone who wants to put down the so called new drivers, PLEASE REMEMBER that you all had to start new at your careers and I'm sure none of you were perfect at your jobs. I'm sorry for the person who had the head on collison with a Swift driver, but please understand that there are bad drivers in trucks just as there are in cars. While I've been in training I've had two seperate occasions where cars have come to a complete stop in front of the truck I was driving as well as numerous 4 wheelers who have cut me off. I really don't like the idea of people who think that truckers are morons, uneducated, and all the other ingorant things that I have seen posted on this site. As for the person who started all of this with their posting, there is always a down side to any company and you only get what you put in to any job.

Wow... that's amazing! you were head on by an 80,000 LB vehicle and still able to hear the driver saying he was sorry to the sheriff... and nobody died... funny I say a super trucker Owner Operator with a big shiny truck with over 20 years of experience run over the top of my sister... Killing her and my two nephews... Amazing how accidents happen... Haveing probably never being in a Tractor Trailor you probably have no idea what its like to run anything but your mouth... I am blown away with what people say about truck drivers. 6'th gereration truck driver (not for Swift) and I hear from decade to decade the larger companies taking guff for stupid drivers. I wonder who really blew the Light and I have a hard time believing you head on'd a tractor trailer and heard anything for a week. I was T-boned by a car in my truck and I had a hard time hearing the guy pulling me out of my truck... and I was sitting still... Maybe of more 4 wheelers were more carful that would not have happend...

Well, according to me, and the dozen or so I witnesses that morning, yes I DID have the Green light for a good 10 to 15 seconds. You have to know that at 6 am in Columbus, Rush Hour starts. The tie up alone took a good 2 hours to clear from that intersection. And yes I was alert and was walking around after this incident.

As I gave credit to God Himself for sparing my life, He's the reason I'm alive today. As I said in an earlier post, my truck was destroyed. It became about a foot and a half shorter than it was beforehand. All the saftey features built into Dodge Dakota's WORK. Both my doors were pinned shut, and it took me shouldering the door from the inside and 3 guys outside to pull it open so that I could get out.

So...there you go. I'm not making postings to get your approval on wether or not I'm telling the truth. I have more than enough witnesses from that morning to prove who was in the right and who was in the wrong and I certainly was NOT in the wrong.

I know a guy who does some side work for Swift truckers and this guy admitted that he was in the wrong to his other coworkers. He admitted he ran the red light thinking he could make it. It was your lovely insurance company who refused to let him admit that.

So there you go. Take it or leave it, it's the truth, not just from me, but from the driver who did it to me too.

if you stop to think about it...wouldn't it make sense that they have more wrecks? with as many drivers and trucks that they have..

that "been to the job 2 weeks"

is completely retarded...or maybe just the author

you have a cdl (and 3yrs exp.) you still go with a trainer for atleast a week

otherwise it is 6 weeks no exp. (as went through THERE school)

maybe he had just been going solo for 2 weeks

and if all the swift drivers suck that back, don't you think it is your fault he hit you cause you weren't paying enough attention to a "known hazard"

rule #1 ALWAYS leave a way out!!! moron

Maybe that driver is possibly lying for causing the accident. He couldnt be driving for just 2 weeks because although there is a swift terminal in Columbus, the closest training acadamy is in Memphis TN. Sorry to hear about your bad accident.

Having been a driver for Swift for most of the 2000 year, I have to agree with the lady, that calls this company "Not So Swift".
The driver managers treat drivers like they just don't matter, in their minds they can just hire another driver.
I had been out on the road for 6 and 1/2 weeks, got a load to within 85 miles from my home, had requested some home time, and had asked for a load that would get me there, so I thought that by getting a load so close to home that I would be given some home time, and they tell you that you will get home every 3 to 5 weeks, but they turned around and hooked me with a load that took me over a thousand miles from home, when I called to tell them that the whole idea for getting me close to home was so I would have some home time I was told that I was the closest truck so they needed me to take the load and they would get me home when they could. So needless to say I quit. There are a lot of companies out there so who need's to be treated like that!
And to the lady that wrote about her husband driving for Swift, I don't think anyone believes that all Swift drivers are inept, but they do have one of the worst safety records of any transport company.

well my husband and i just got married during his home time on friday. he got here the tuesday before and the first thing he asked for was the sunday help wanted section of the paper. he is a swift driver but is fed up with their bullshit. they send him out west and forget about him (he barely made it home for our wedding). they screw up his pay. and they outright lied to him b/c when asked, they said that his pay would NOT drop when going out west. but i am the one who gets his check stubs, and it drops from 31 cpm to 24 cpm. which, when they forget to add trips to your pay in the first place is a big difference. swift is starting to be a pain in both our asses and i am glad he is cutting ties with them. i have to call and constantly yell at the payroll department to make sure he even gets paid for all of his trips. he is so quiet and mild mannered i have to be the mean one. ~ raleigh, nc

To the person talking about the driver with "Two weeks training". If you knew anything about Swift, you would know an inexperienced driver must complete 6 weeks (42 days) with a Mentor (Trainer) before they are eligible to upgrade to Solo status and that is only if the Mentor has signed off on their evaluation and the student succesfully completes Close Quarter training, which is a class that reinforces the proper techniques in safely navigating the truck in close situations, such as backing up or getting into tight areas. If the student does not demonstrate the skills necessary to pass this class, they are then returned for 2 more weeks of training with a different mentor. So, save the lies for a Brittney Spears blog. Loser.

You sir are retarded.

Azz Holl ?? If you could read or if your husband were of any intelligent thought he might tell you that his pay shows .24cpm because he is signed up for the Per-Diem tax savings plan and while it might show .24cpm on his mileage earnings you would see money paid to him as "per Diem", which is not taxed. It's like making $50,000 per year, but only taxable for $40,000. Those of us with half a brain think it's pretty good to put our tax money back in our pockets. Too bad for Azz that he has to put up with your stanky attitude and stench from under your shorts.

Ok Jesus, Junior Member I am guessing you don't know how to read very well.

Swift DOES change its milage rates when you cross over the Mississippi river. If you would have read the post you would have known that. Also if you would have read the post it was explained there was no mention of Perdiem pay. So who is the "azz holl" now?

Actually fool....I know the mileage rate changes crossing the Mississippi river, but it doesn't drop 7 cents like Azz Hole had said from .31 cpm to .24 cpm. It's only a 2 cpm differnece going from East to West. Anything more than that is from the Per Diem, which is withheld unless the driver submits the proper macro to dis-enroll. How you like me now biotch?

Oh dear lord! This is too rich not to get in on.

First, I worked for swift from 1999 to 2001. I drove for a year and the became a driver/trainer (thats what we were called then).

All that have worked in a business as bis as Swift and knows anything about Jerry Moyes should know, he is a business man - simply enough said. That is what business men do, turn as much profit as possible without hurting the bottom line. Swift employees are nothing more but resources in that endeavor. The faster those accept that, the better off they'll be. And for aquisitions, it matters not who, what, when, where, and why; there are never any guarantees that come out of so called business arrangements, in this case human resources and the aquisition. To hold any honest expectation or expected value of such would be totally naive.

My experience with swift was an experience - it was my experience, that is, what I made out of it. I left Swift due to marital problems. (was a dumb mistake we divorced anyway).

To the lady who experienced the head on collision. A lot happens during an accident. The driver may have very well said he has only been on his own for 2 weeks, that being said my only question is how you was able to talk with him later. At the time I was driving, someone that new that would make such a potentially costly mistake (life wise) are not usually employed any longer as they are seen as a serious liability. But I can assure you, he was not driving for swift nor had his cdl for only two weeks when he ran the red light.

Something that a lot of people need to understand. You have to build a face to face relationship with your driver manager. This should not be negotiable. If the DM has a problem with that kind of relationship, then go over their head and explain why. While I respected my DM, he knew my preferences and he knew that I understood the consequences if I didn't or couldn't team play. What I mean is, I wouldn't run New York and New England. I told him that and he knew that I understood that I could be setting. VERY WELL! I'll set. It is what I made it. Because of this relationship I had no problem telling him what i would and wouldn't accept.

The pay, oh the pay! Here is what I was taught and I tried to teach my trainees. DO NOT HOLD ON TO YOUR TRIP PACKS! It is guaranteed that if you hold on to them and turn them in as one big group of trip packs for many unseen reasons, your pay can get dicked up. Mostly O/O will hold on to a couple here and there to turn them in for pay and tax purposes but company drivers have no need. Also, don't seal you envelopes until you are at a terminal you do this because you'll want to make copies.

Here is the most intersting point to all of this. I stumbled on here to research Swift again as I am probably going to go back on the road. The interesting point is, when I researched Swift in 1999 just before getting out of the military, I read and heard all the same bullshit. And when I got out there this is what I found, the majority of the bullshit is created by the driver 95% of the time. You are your own boss, you are the captain of your ship, you have to conduct your self in that way or you will get ran over everytime......

AND MGMT KNOWS THIS MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright, heres the deal. More trucks equal more crashes its that simple. Its the law of averages. If swift were actually dangerous the DOT would not bat an eye enroute to shutting them down. The SEA scores for swift is not and has never been > 75. Just like anything else in life 95% of the things that suck are 95% your fault. Most of the crap you hear about swift is due to swift having put or are putting their company out of business and or buying them. Swift gets more freight because they can haul more freight cheaper. Swift has 17224 trucks 3507 owner operator rigs and 53223 trailers. The reasons any of us go to work are to get paid and be proud of what we do. Probability and statistics prove that if you work for swift and actually work for swift you're gonna get paid and will continue to be paid until you're not worth paying. Whether or not you're worth paying is entirely dependent on you. Employment at swift is fire at will that means you can be fired for any reason or no reason at any time. Swift has the most coin and writes the checks to pay the bills when they get'em and that includes payroll. If you're at swift and you're getting gypped swift isn't gypping you you're gypping yourself. It is impossible in America for a company to start with one truck 40 years ago and turn that one truck into the nations largest truckload carrier and all the while having had done a crappy job. Doing business with swift is probably the cheapest and most efficient way to safely and securely haul your freight, and definitely the easiest to deal with. Working with swift is entirely what you make it.

I worked for them for a short time recently. They are really suffering service wise we had a new account that would have been over 7million dollars with dedicated runs and after 48 of 60 service failures were shown the door by the client. With Jerry taking over again things may get better but I echo the corporate BS comments I have read in this forum. In addition the buying of a Mexican Carrier has been a major black eye all the way around for Swift. Their Mexican Group is the most arrongant group of do nothings you could ever come upon- but because the son in law is babysitting the Mexico deal they keep pusing it on clients not realizing that Hunt and Schneider have tried and backed away from similar pursuits. They are also at the mercy and whim of the Mexican Govenrnment which is Mucho Shaky in terms of what it could do to Swift on a bad hair day. Swift drivers are great people but too many get stepped on by the revolving door group of driver managers. In a very tough year things are dicey at Swift especially with their giant payments every month for the buyout. They will need a lot more than luck to have even a decent year this year.
