View Full Version : Job Story: Cartoonist...Some politics and censorship but its a swell job
I think this sounds interesting and very stimulating, Indeed. The concerne is merely those SlackEyeMothers who suddenly grew so Bolognia stubborn, it irritates me too, that some people can think they are som mucuch just begause they are afraid of certain words: that izz to tip the goddamned load, and de-certificise the craft of krativety... The point.Angry.

I'm all for censorship, although I would have to say the "top 10" words you listed weren't what I would consider profanity. I suppose the last paragraph in your story could use some censoring.
<br>
<br>
Nevertheless, your remarks about the fake cave and other jobs were pretty amusing. You probably would make a fine writer, provided there's somebody to censor any swear words you might use.

If you're looking for a second career as a writer, here's a piece of advice: Brush up on your English and dump the King's Language.

Now, as far as you're bio is concerned, I found it entertaining, to say the least, but not very inspiring. While I agree with your "Who You Know, Not What You Know" premise as it pertains to Tinseltown, it is important to point out that not every cartoonist gets his/her start in Hollywood; and certainly not every cartoonist has to go to art college in order to get a job.
<br>
I understand your cynicism towards the often frivolous and synthetic culture known as Hollywood. If I was in your shoes, I'd be cynical too. Have you considered freelance cartooning? Maybe starting your own strip or editorial spot? Sounds like you can afford it now. At any rate, your bio might be a good source for somebody interested in live action animation and working in a studio. It does not, however, address the issues facing comic strip and editorial cartoonists. I think I'll go check out another site...

I understand and I have delt with all you just said. I to am a cartoonist. I have had my work taken away and given to other cartoonist, Work as been just stolen. ( don't you just love working 4 months on characters to be informed that you work belongs to the "COMPANY". The told you need to finish your degree. Well here I am almost 40 and back in school. Hey it is great alot of fun.
<br>
Worst thing for me was developing something for another country"other than my own" then having the project taken and given to another artist because they felt it should go to a home artist. Oh yeah I was under contract so they kept all the work and are mass producing it for their show. I love seeing my characters come to life under someone elses pen. NOT!

I am going to be a freshman in highschool next school year and for our gifted class we had to research colleges. That got me thinking as to what I wanted to do in life, I am still unsure, but I was reading about Walt Disney's life and it sounded really interesting, so I was just wondering about cartooning. I don't really know what questions to ask, but it would be very helpful to know more about you and your proffesion and how you got into it. (What some of those other people said was really rude, so I am apologizing for them as well.)

I'm looking into a career in panel cartoons and I found your story
<br>
pretty good for you to get that job
<br>
<br>
Cencorship heavily gets up my ass.
<br>
GASP I said ass,,, uhh ohh, I must have just corrupted thousands of kids from that.
<br>
I mean, if you are offended by something, it isn't your right to change the whole show to your liking
<br>
some people are offended by the smallest things and I hate it
<br>
I went through a drug hating phrase (Family death) and I used to always get cut when drugs were shown on the television. I just turned it off... YES it's that simple folks, don't watch it!!!
<br>
I am now over the phrase, I still hate drugs but now I can joke aboot it etc
<br>
<br>
Anyways I hope to be a cartoonist someday too. But I am a soul cartoonist, I can't draw nifty realistic drawings, I can bluntly draw cartoons

I think the more you censor things the more people want to see them. By censoring thing it is just lying about their truth to our youth who need to know them from their parents before they learn them from someone else and learn that they maybe alright to do. My only adivce is to talk to your children about the issues they being protected from by censorship so they know the truth. Thank you.
