All my sympathies...been there before. I think you should consider moving. Unless there are compelling reasons for you to stay in your small town, move to where life is better.

Wow, what you have to endure. I wonder how old you are? You said your options were limited because you live in a small town. Are you married? Are you part of the financial support system in your household? I cannot relate to your story. I work in NYC and live in one of the surrounding boroughs. My grief is no longer feeling fullfilled in my job by the money is pretty good...all things considered. I am sorry for your limited work options and the need to stay where you are. Ever consider moving?

I feel for you I also work for a reservations company in Miami which starts you at $7.00. No travel benefits and the supervisors are constantly monitoring and making us look like fools.

I work for a call center also, incoming calls only for magazines. It's the same way here. Not only do you have to put up with clients, supervisors, but also customers who think they can treat you like dirt. Do these people get any kind of satisfaction out of it, I wonder? Just know, many suffer with you. Hang in there!

What is it with these call centers? I guess they're all into micro-managing. I guess they all like to monitor your every move and establish various kinds of requirements such as calls per hour, specific phrases and words that have to be said, etc. Don't they realize they are exponentially multiplying the already existing stress level? Don't they understand how difficult it is to deal with the people who call in, thinking it's their special day and you're a lower life form than them?

Obviously, your situation is compounded by management that is purely satanic. I recommend that one quit this job and put these sub-human wastes of life behind you. It can't be worth it. You deserve better than that! Anybody does!

It bewilders me to no end that people like that can stay in business.
Ohmygod I know this company. I used to work for the same company but in another location. Trust me, there are enough details in this message that I am 100% sure we are talking about the same place. I can sympathize - I worked for a VP and I knew what was going on in planning and production meetings. It's not really about associate appreciation, is it? It's about the bottom line - make more money.

It never used to be like that..I left 2 years ago because I couldn't stand what the company had become. I hope since you've posted that message that you've been able to find better employment or at least happiness! Good luck!
I also worked for that company. Recognized it right away. 5 years I spent believing that they put their employees first, and then I get fired for trumped up reasons when I was pregnant. I hope you can get out of there one of these days, but meanwhile, know that there are people out here who can totally sympathise with you!

I understand just how you feel. I work in Las Vegas for a Hotel. They treat usr eally bad recently they decided taht they were not going to allow us to havepeople call us backso that has killed our commissions. They monitor everyting. The other day a supervisor followed one of my coworkers to the bathroom and asked her why she could not wait for her break. I have had it. I am going back to school and I hope that I will find a better job soon. Good Luck to you.
