I am 17 years old and I still work at my local Mc Donald's as a McDonalds manager. I started about 3 years ago, and I have enjoyed the atmosphere ever since. My store is located in the heartland region, Lebanon Mo. The Management team acts like a team and is treated like a team. The crew is as well treated like a team.
Sure Mc Donalds has its problems, but every job has its down-falls. I have never worked anywhere else, but I will say that I love my mcdonalds manager job. People always say to me when I joke around about quitting - "You will never leave this place!" I am truly committed to my mcdonalds manager job and my employee's. I treat them with the same amount of respect that they treat me. Our owner owns five stores and takes care of all of his stores very well.
I would encourage young people to work at Mc Donalds to open thier eyes up, see the true value of money, learn resposibiblity, and maybe even excell beyond a mcdonalds store manager!
I have heard these qoutes -
1."Only 10% of us are leaders, the other 90% are followers"
2."Leaders are born not made"
At my Mc Donalds we strive to bring out the best in every employee... Because if one person fails we all fail. We are a team. When I talk about teams I mean the owner and the lobby person, the mcdonalds store manager and the wash person, I mean all of us.
Im not saying Mc Donalds is perfect, but the stores that do have problems I believe that it is up to corporation to fix. When corp. has come to our store they always leave with a sense of pride in Mc Donalds... Never do they leave with the feeling of " There is a nother problem to solve..."
I will eventually quit Mc Donalds but in tell that day comes I will continue to make a difference in my community, at my job, to my employee's, and on myself.
Good Luck at Mc Donalds,
Bobby Christiansen - Manager
