McDonalds Assistant Manager ….never a dull moment
Hi, I’d like start off by saying that i work at McDonald’s. I began my job there in 2008 as a crew member. Over the passed year, i have learned a lot. sacrificed a lot (weekends, holiday, low pay) but i contiue to grow.
Its sad to say that working in the service industry doesn’t give too much respect. I introduce myself to others and once i mention i work at McDonalds– i get the same response. Little do they know, management and even crew positions at McDonald’s require a certain kind of talent. I see it everyday in my store, and it makes me proud to work with the people i work with. The speed, the planning, the problem solving skills, the hospitality, the teamwork, and most of all– a great attitude!
My employees are hard workers, they take pride in what they do and strive to give 100% each and everyday. Nothing is more exciting than giving great results and seeing the looks on people’s faces.
No day is ever the same. I don’t think there’s ever a dull moment. I’ve been to several management courses and i feel confident in what i do.
I enjoy my job. People judge Mcdonald's workers. However, I feel like Mcdonald's workers work harder then most professions.
As an assistant manager I do schedules, order, month end inventory, I put out fires among employees who argue, and much, much more.
I really enjoy it and my pay is good. I've seen other people complain about their wages, but I get paid good. I make 4 dollars an hour more then I did as a leasing agent who managed millions of dollars of reality. Of course, I expect more money for the work I do. But, I am confidant that my owners will recongize my worth and offer me more.
I am going to Hamburger University in March/April and I am looking forward to being the store manager.
As a store manager the pay is as good as any other career. I liken it to a teachers wage or a nurses wage.
So my goal is to keep enjoying my job and eventually bring home a great paycheck.
I enjoy my job there, I just don't enjoy certain people. Standing behind an assistant manager when she is bitching about you for her mistake trying to make out it was you to a higher manager, this is not good team work, and is bad for morale. When she realised I was stood there, she laughed, and walked away.
